Course Overview

Welcome to Drama!

The role of Dramatics as an expression of human ingenuity, creativity and innovation can hardly be debated. Trusity’s Drama program will have learners develop their gifts in areas such as acting, voice, movement, and leadership. The student will be involved as a creator, performer, historian, and critic. The best part of Drama is that it builds you as a person.

The experiences shared during the sessions will not be always learned from a textbook, but through various practices and situations encountered during the course. The program aims to develop leaners emotionally, physically, intellectually, imaginatively, and socially. Our experienced tutors customize and deliver the program basis knowledge and skill level of each individual learner.

Course Objectives

Help the students achieve a state of present mind using different forms of games.
Reflective learning by generating ideas and using extensive questioning skills.
Encourage improvisation skills to generate more ideas and explore greater possibilities.
Questions and dialogue-based learning to help sharpen memory.
Build confidence, memory retention and concentration.
Improve language and communication skills.
Improve vocal projection, articulation, tone of speech and expression.
Improve listening and observation skills.
Develop emotional intelligence, encourage collaboration and teamwork.
Understand different characters, situations and cultures thereby developing compassion and tolerance.
Motivate and reduce stress by adding elements of play, humor and laughter.

Topics

Conduct facial expression games such as (Simon says) and allow children to find their own comfort expressions

Understand different levels of voices (whisper-yelling) and how to control them
Vocal exercises will be used (number games) to find the right pitch and tone as well as to showcase patience onstage and off-stage

Perform using basic theatre conversations and keywords to depict a scene or still image
Add imaginary situations in a scene, out of stories, from real contexts and short texts, to interpret and plan short simple scenes
